The Competitive Enterprise Institute, who not even the likes of ExxonMobil want to be associated with anymore, has issued a media advisory today offering up their in-house staff as global warming โ€œexpertsโ€ available for comment on the upcoming release by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

With the IPCC report coming from scientists, you would think the CEI would be offering up scientists as global warmingย โ€œexperts.

Thinkย again.

Here’s some background information on each of their so-calledย โ€œexperts.โ€

Myron Ebell
Ebell is listed as the CEI‘s โ€œdirector of energy and global warming policy.โ€Here’s a great video (one of DeSmog’s favorite’s) of Ebell. So what exactly are Ebell’s credentials as a โ€œglobal warming expert?โ€ First, you will notice in the video that Ebell admits he is not a scientist. Here’s the sourcewatch scoop onย Ebell.

Bottom line, he’s not aย scientist.

Iain Murray
Listed as a โ€œSenior Fellow โ€ at the CEI, Murray’s background and expertise in the science of global warming includes working for the British Department of Transport on railroad privatization. As far as any scienttific background, Murray hails a Diploma from the Imperial College of Science, Technology andย Medicine.

Bottom line, not aย scientists.

Marlo Lewis
Listed as a โ€œSenior Fellowโ€ at the CEI, Mr. Lewis holds a Ph.D in government and a BA in politicalย science.

Bottom line, not aย scientist.

Chris Horner
Also listed as a โ€œSenior Fellowโ€ at the CEI. He’s aย lawyer.

Seriously.
