The words โ€œglobal warmingโ€ provoke a sharp retort from Colorado State University meteorology professor emeritus William Gray: โ€œIt’s a big scam.โ€ And the name of climate researcher Kevin Trenberth elicits a sputteredย โ€œopportunist.โ€

(Grey repeated his assertion despite the publication of a meticulous refutation of his claims by a group of leading climate scientists.)ย 

At the National Center for Atmospheric Research, where Trenberth works, Gray’s name prompts dismay. โ€œBill Gray is completely unreasonable,โ€ Trenberth says. โ€œHe has a mind block onย this.โ€
