Brendan is Executive Director of DeSmog. He is also a writer focused on disinformation and corporate accountability.

Hazel Healy is DeSmog UK’s Editor-in-Chief and CEO. She majors in climate and food politics investigations, which have featured on the likes of The Guardian and the BBC. She lives in Oxford.

Geoff Dembicki is Global Managing Editor of DeSmog and author of The Petroleum Papers. He’s based in Montreal.

Phoebe leads investigations on European politics, food and farming, and occasionally dips into other subjects too.

Matthew leads DeSmog’s coverage of the global climate crisis, energy politics, and the struggles for environmental justice through an international lens.

Sam leads DeSmog’s coverage of UK politics, and was previously an investigative journalist at the BBC.

Mary leads DeSmog’s Canada coverage. She is based in Tiohtià:ke/ Montréal.

Ashley leads DeSmog’s U.S. coverage, focusing on the oil and gas industry, disinformation, and climate crisis denial.

Diane Bernard works with DeSmog’s U.S. team.

Emily joined DeSmog in 2020 as a contributing editor. She works closely with global staff and freelance reporters on feature and investigative stories.

Sari edits DeSmog’s Climate Disinformation Database, and creates illustrations for DeSmog news and feature stories.

Adam covers UK news. He was formerly a staff writer at Left Foot Forward, and a BBC Local Democracy Reporter.

Brigitte is a researcher at DeSmog, covering industrial aquaculture. Her work focuses on revealing conflicts of interest, greenwashing and unethical supply chains of the fish farming sector.

Danielle contributes to DeSmog Canada, and is an award-winning magazine writer, journalist, editor, educator, podcaster and mentor.

Edward is a reporter for DeSmog covering the AI data center development boom in the United States, and has contributed to DeSmog’s coverage of the European gas lobby.

Ellen is a reporter for DeSmog’s Holding the Advertising and Public Relations Industry Accountable for Greenwash and Climate Misinformation series.

Joey has been a reporter and Climate Disinformation Database Lead at DeSmog since April 2023. He also works freelance for Deutsche Welle and Clean Energy Wire in Berlin.

Justin writes for DeSmog and other U.S. publications, including Rolling Stone and Harper’s, on the impacts of oil and gas industry waste on workers, communities, public health, and the environment.

Kate is a researcher for DeSmog’s Holding the Advertising and Public Relations Industry Accountable for Greenwash and Climate Misinformation series and a journalist on New Hampshire Public Radio.

Katie is a researcher at DeSmog, investigating how the advertising and public relations industry works to maximise the profits of their polluting clients at the expense of the planet.

Mitch Anderson is a Vancouver-based journalist covering climate and extraction industries.

Rachel is an investigative researcher and reporter based in Brussels. Her work has been covered by outlets including The Guardian, Vice News, The Financial Times and The Hill.

Rei is a reporter and researcher for DeSmog since February 2025. Her work focuses on climate disinformation and environmental justice and has appeared in The ENDS Report and Now Then Magazine.

Sarah Hofmann is a journalist and graduate student at NYU’s Science, Health and Environmental Reporting Program (SHERP) who is interning for DeSmog during the summer of 2026.

Taylor C. Noakes is an investigative journalist with DeSmog. He focuses primarily on Canada’s oil & gas sector.
