Penguins the Latest Climate Change Canary

A new study out of the University of Washington has found that penguin populations are plummeting due to climate change, pollution and other factors like fish stock depletion and loss of breedingย habitat.

โ€œPenguins are in trouble,โ€ says Dee Boersma, whose study appears in the journal BioScience, โ€œThey certainly are canaries in the coal mine.โ€
