DeSmog UK is pleased to introduce you to its new deputy editor, Mat Hope. Starting today, Mat will join editor Kyla Mandel in expanding DeSmog UK’s work casting light on the country’s ever-changing political scene.

Mat joins from Nature Climate Change, having previously worked at Carbon Brief. He has a PhD in climate change communication from the University of Bristol.

He has experience covering all facets of the UK’s energy and climate change debate, from fact-checking denier positions to reporting on the government’s role in international negotiations.

Mat joins the DeSmog UK team as it continues to expand its efforts to uncover the undue influence of climate science denial and the fossil fuel industry on UK energy and climate policy.

As part of this expansion, you may have noticed that the DeSmog UK website has changed colour. We hope you join us as we continue to bring you fresh investigations and analysis on all things energy and climate.

If you have any story ideas or suggestions, or want to get in touch, please email [email protected].
