Allan (Al) B. Hubbard co-founded E&A Industries in 1977.² Bloomberg describes E&A Industries as a venture capital firm that “invests in commodity contracts, tax liens, venture capital companies, and other miscellaneous investing.”³

E&A has said it is “not a private equity firm and does not seek to ‘buy and flip’ companies; rather, E&A is an operator of companies and a partner to ownership groups working to achieve long term value creation through a disciplined yet unique management style.”⁴

According to his biography on the E&A Industries website, Hubbard worked for the George H.W. Bush administration as deputy chief of staff to Vice President Dan Quayle, as well as executive director of the President’s Council on Competitiveness.⁵

In the subsequent George W. Bush administration, Hubbard served as an assistant to the president for economic policy and director of the National Economic Council.⁶

He is now a director of the Simon Property Group, The Heritage Group, and the Indiana Commission for Higher Education.⁷He is also a board member of the Lumina Foundation.⁸

Hubbard is married to Kathryn (Kathy) F. Hubbard.⁹
