The former U.S. Senator and vice-presidential candidate John Edwards won the poll with about 33 per cent of the vote.
Congressman Dennis Kucinich was runner-up with about 15 percent support, ahead of Senators Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama. According to a spokesman for MoveOn, 95,284 people voted online.
Eli Pariser, executive director of MoveOn, said interest the group has seen among its members on global warming “emphasizes how important it will be for our next president to make solving the climate crisis a top priority in 2008.”
