Harper Follows Bush In Adopting Sham Emissions Measurement

Whenย  Prime Minister Harper announced he will adopt an โ€œintensity basedโ€ system for measuring greenhouse emissions, he was followingย the lead of President George W. Bush in using โ€œgreenhouseย intensityโ€ as aย bogus way to measure carbon emissions. ย The โ€œintensity basedโ€ system would do nothing to cut emissions โ€“ only marginally slow their growth. Moreover, as a โ€œvoluntaryโ€ mechanism, they would attract few, if any, serious polluters. โ€œIntensity basedโ€ is merely a new form of jargon for โ€œbusiness as usualโ€ while the world burns.ย ย
