Global warming heralds lower timber values and shorter logging seasons in New Hampshire

Loggers and policy makers at a conference planned by the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests and Clean Air-Cool Planet also heard experts say the state could have seven times the number of high-temperature days by 2070 if things don’t change.

Former New York Gov. George Pataki also spoke at the conference. He said forest industries should be part of the solution to climate change by reducing carbon emissions and using wood chips to produce a fuel similar to ethanol.
